Growler Policy

Want to bring some Morgan Territory Brewing home with you?

Growlers are a great way to enjoy Morgan Territory beers outside of our tasting room. Our growlers are available in 32 or 64 ounce bottles and can be filled with any beer from our taps and refilled over and over. They make great gifts and are great for special occasions, the big game, or just enjoying at your leisure. Call ahead and we’ll have them waiting for you so you won’t have to wait.

It’s best to consume your growler within a week – the sooner the better – so you can get as close to the Morgan Territory Brewing Growlers fresh taste from the Tasting Room. We recommend you enjoy in one sitting so size your growler accordingly because recapping can lead to oxidation and carbonation issues which is not how we wish you to experience our beers. So grab a friend to help you finish your growler and introduce them to your new favorite beer! Then bring your clean growler back to the Tasting Room for a refill and pay a cheaper price for your beer. It’s that easy!

Growler FAQs

How do I take care of my growler?

Keep your filled growler cold and out of the light. Large temperature fluctuations and light both will negatively affect your beer. If you don’t have a cooler to take your growler home, then we suggest purchasing one of our growler coozies to keep the bottle cool and out of the light until you can get it refrigerated or on ice.

What’s the best way to clean the growler?

Since you can’t lick the bottle clean like we know you want to, try swishing some water into the bottle a couple of times immediately after you empty it. Once rinsed, set the cap aside and let it air dry completely. Recapping too soon could introduce mold or other nasty things – yuck! When it is completely dry, go ahead and recap to prevent dust from accumulating inside. Now you’re ready to bring your clean growler back to the brewery and have it refilled with your favorite Morgan Territory beer or try something new.

Oops, I forgot to clean my growler – what now?

It happens to the best of us but not to worry. You can still get your growler clean with a little more effort. This may be a shock to you but beer becomes sticky as it dries and the narrow top of the growler makes it hard to get in there and scrub it off. Usually a dish washer is not enough to get the job done. We recommend that you put a drop or two of dish soap into the growler, fill to the top with warm water, and let it soak for a couple of hours. After it is done soaking swish with clean water and rinse out completely. Let it air dry completely and either recap or turn upside down. Especially soiled growlers may require the use of a bottle brush to clean entirely.

Will you fill growlers from other breweries?

Absolutely but… you will need to cover up EVERYTHING that identifies another brewery. That means all logos, artwork, graphics, and addresses. Masking tape is easy and removable. DON’T COVER the volume of the container or any government warnings. We have nothing against other breweries, it is just the law. We don’t make the laws, but we do follow them. Want to double check yourself here is the word straight from ABC.

What size growlers will you fill?

If you are bringing in a 3rd party growler, the volume must be visible. We will fill 32oz, 64oz, and 128oz growlers for you. Any other volume will not be filled.

Can you clean my growler for me before you fill it?

In a word – nope! See answer above on how to clean your growler before you bring it in. Open the cap of your growler, if you smell anything other than air then it is not clean. Stop what you are doing and start washing. If you accidentally bring in an unclean growler, we suggest you purchase a new growler from the Tasting Room.

Is there any reason you won’t fill my growler?

There are only two reasons we would not fill your growler. One – if we believe it is too unsanitary and would ruin the taste of anything we put in it so why bother. Two – if your vessel is a volume other than 32, 64 or 128 oz. We’d be happy to sell you one of our clean 32 or 64oz growlers so you won’t leave empty handed.

Can I just swap out for a new growler the next time we come for a refill?

No. That is fine for kegs, but it does not apply to growlers. We respect the environment and encourage reuse of the growler you own. Bring in a clean vessel in the right size and we’ll fill it.

I just bought a growler - Can I get a couple glasses to drink it onsite?

Sorry growlers are for off premises consumption only.
